The move was getting to be more of an anticlimax than the proverbial. Glad to note that full names will not be available.

This a FAQ below that I have been wondering about. It seems to be the case that those who haven't moved, or not been able to move, will not have their contributions available on a search. there is a wealth of information in past posts, hopefully this can be resolved as in "Whatever happened to what's his name"

Q12. Will my past post count still be visible on my new profile?
In Engineering Communities we use activity badges to indicate a community
member's amount of contribution. When your profile is imported into the community,
we will make arrangements for your past forum activity to be recognised.

Regards

Hi Jaymack

I think you may have misinterpreted that FAQ.

All past posts in this forum will be available and searchable in an archive. That FAQ is more about recognition of the amount of posts a member has contributed. For example OMS is our top contributor in this forum but when their profile is imported into the new platform they'll start again from 0. We want to find a way to recognise/reward the past contribution made to this forum within your new profile. We haven't yet decided what form that will take but it can be applied retrospectively as I have all the data needed.

Now I have been let back in, from hero to zero in one key stroke Grasshopper.

Such is life, Rock - welcome back

We come screaming into this world with nothing - we shuffle off the ball of clay with nothing

Looks like the update has been completed

Couldn't help noticing that references to people's original names still exist in ["Quoted] replies - probably not an issue as those people were presumably happy to use their full names in the first place, but maybe something to be aware of in that it might provide an enduring link between nom-de-plume and real name for those involved.

Let's just say that RnR has oft had to listen out for the cat like tread of the moderators creeping up to feel his collar

as we used to say, "it was the big boys from the rough school down the hill that did it, but they ran away"

"Usual Suspect" ? - more like Prime Suspect in RnR's case

He can be a very naughty boy on occasions

Did we go to the same school?

Of course, every now and again one had to do the demonstration bit with the teacher. She was so strongly corseted that it felt like dancing with a bird cage.

Sounds like we were all in the same school - the only bit not mentioned is the approach to training the "young men of Empire" - including drill with the SMLE - used for delivering peace and harmony across the globe, obvs.
