Has anyone cracked how to stop the IET banner on the right from covering the right hand side of the threads list? The one with the private messages and categories in it.
I can tell you that it is not the magnification level or the screen resolution.
shame because it covers over the name and time of recent posts. Let us know if you have found the secret key.

I think it only happens when people post pictures. The larger the picture the worse it is. very annoying.

It is on the main thread list for me though. Since about a week or so.
Same on the laptop as the proper desk one BTW. One Google chrome the other not.

The IET are probably not aware of the problem, or they would realise that the site has to be designed for friendly display on mobiles. It also happens on my tablet which I don't use often.

should we notify the mods - the IET pay good money for the fusetalk software, and if its not working as it should, someone needs to be told.

Besides that problem, which seems to be caused by posting a photo, I have also seen similar (but on the other side) when there is a post by a member with a longer than usual username.
It would not surprise me if the IET mods do not see these problems. I have a website which is hosted for me by an organisation, but for access convenience I have my own domain which diverts to it. Simples, who may think; but the organisation has a thing a cookies (even though they tell me that there aren't any involved) and require an acceptance on the first occasion that anyone accesses 'my' site. The divert seems to have confused this, with the result that if I go to 'my' website via my domain name divert, then I am asked to accept cookies, not only when I arrive on the home page, but for every page I visit or re-visit.
When I report this, the organisation do not see this issue and say there is nothing wrong and therefore nothing to fix. Typical!
Cheers!
Clive

I've not had that problem but use Firefox. It could be an IE problem, as they are all different!.

I'm using Firefox, on a variety of Linuxes. I see the problem with oversized pictures.

You really are trying hard to look foolish. The HTML response of differing browsers the the page data should be identical, but there are problems with IE, as Microsoft seem to want to do their own thing and not conform to a whole pile of standards. I seem to have detected that attitude somewhere before.
The test Andy has posted does not work in IE either!

I also think it can be caused when a reply has been drafted in Word or other text editor, and pasted as a reply. The text just continues rightwards without wrapping.

How does it look on this thread? http://www.theiet.org/Forums/f...d=59621&enterthread=y
the picture in the 3rd post widens the column containing all the messages for me so that they are 'underneath' the categories bar - that's with firefox on widoze. Other threads are OK for me at the moment.

Hi Zs, how about font size.....mines fine but I can get it to do what you describe by clicking on the A+ box, twice. Does it change if you click the a- box?
