| Satellite-based toll unit for private vehicles Two European firms are collaborating to develop an in-vehicle road toll unit based on satellite positioning and mobile phone technology. Its use for road-charging scheme would save authorities the cost of installing expensive infrastructure such as toll stations. 8 May 2008 Israel hosts Watchkeeper test flight The Watchkeeper unmanned aerial surveillance vehicle due to come into service with UK armed forces in 2010 has completed its first successful test flight in northern Israel. 6 May 2008 Bus biofuel project extended Bus operator Stagecoach is extending a pioneering biofuel initiative for a further six months after the project, in which buses run on recycled cooking oil, generated a significant cut in carbon emissions and boosted recycling. 1 May 2008
