Space engineer Dr Yang Gao of the Surrey Space Centre is to develop a new generation of lunar rovers with one of China’s top engineers, funded by The Royal Academy of Engineering. 12 May 2008 | Brooks Instrument acquired by AIP American Industrial Partners (AIP) has acquired Brooks Instrument, from Emerson Process Management. Brooks is a world-leading supplier of precision low-flow measurement and control instrumentation with headquarters in Hatfield, Pennsylvania, US and manufacturing locations in Hungary, France, The Netherlands, and Japan. 8 May 2008 Big ears down under CSIRO scientists with the Minerals Down Under National Research Flagship have successfully used an electronic listening post to track and control a drill operating more than 300m below the Earth’s surface. 8 May 2008
