“Broadband is becoming as important to world economies as energy has been in the past,” says Matt Bross, chief technology officer of BT Group and keynote speaker at SOFNET 08.

The development of next generation carrier networks will be debated at the SOFNET 08 conference and exhibition, 28 April-1 May at the Olympia National Hall in London.

Other keynote speakers will include: Sally Davis, CEO, BT Wholesale; Bhaskar Gorti, Senior VP and General Manager, Oracle; Helmut Leopold, Director, Platform and Technology Management, Telekom Austria; and Andreas Mueller-Schubert, General Manager, Global Solutions, Microsoft Mediaroom.

As part of the event, on 30 April the IET is supporting a keynote luncheon for industry professors and students, entitled, ‘Bridging the Gap between Industry and Academia’.
