Healthcare to build the next generation of radio oncology machines which use protons and heavy ions which can be focussed more accurately and cause significantly less collateral damage

Defence and security applications such as speeding up the scanning of containers at their ports of entry for illicit cargo.

Scientific discovery to build the next generation accelerators and light sources with increased energy levels.
Each of these areas provide researchers, developers, scientists and engineers with significant long term challenges and opportunities.
