About this Technical and Professional Network

What are the Network's scope and objectives? What are the benefits of joining this Network? How can you contribute?

Scope and objectives

The Antennas and Propagation Technical and Professional Network (TPN) will cover all aspects of the theory and design and modelling of antenna systems and associated components, as well as theoretical and wave experimental studies of electromagnetic wave propagation at any frequency, including:

  • Applications to radio communications, radar, navigation and remote sensing systems
  • Mechanical and environmental factors
  • Transmission systems and components associated with antenna systems
  • Applications of radio propagation data in radio spectrum management

If you have an interest in any of the above areas then this is the network for you!

Benefits of joining

The aims of this TPN are to provide you, the Antennas and Propagation Engineering community, with the following:

  • A forum for the exchange of information relating to antennas and propagation.
  • A virtual resource of expertise and knowledge
  • Assist in the continuing professional development of Antennas and Propagation engineers
  • Organising physical events of relevance to the A&P community. This will include continuing the highly successful series of ICAP (International Conference on Antennas and Propagation) and the Radiowave Propagation Residential Course.

Once you have registered your details on this web site you will be able to access all areas from the online library with many technical papers to the discussions, where you are able to express your views on many hot topics.

You are openly encouraged to become involved in the communities activities, including the organisation of events, publication of papers and other material and participation in online discussion groups. If you are interested in contributing in any way, please email Sarah Halfpenny - TPN Manager.

Remember, this network has been designed to provide you with the knowledge, products and services you need in order to succeed in your career. Therefore, we welcome your comments and feedback on any aspect of the network, the IET website or services that we are offering your community.
