E-mail Lists
Our mailing lists are one of a number of electronic communication mechanisms used by groups of Institution Members and other interested parties. Mailing lists make it possible to send a message to one email address, for automatic redistribution to a large number of individuals' addresses. Typical uses therefore include discussions within groups (or sometimes committees) with a common interest, and also the distribution of information about activities, events and other services. The program that the Institution uses to manage its mailing lists is Majordomo.

List servers have been used successfully by a variety of Institution groups since they were first offered in 1994. However, other options are now available. For example, the discussion forums on this site are now the main electronic means through which members and others hold discussions. Advice on the services offered may be requested by contacting the webmaster using the link at the bottom of this page.
