CALL FOR PAPERS


Eleventh Annual Conference

IEE Sri Lanka will hold the Eleventh Annual Conference on 25th September 2004.

This conference is intended to provide a forum for the presentation of papers, and to foster interaction between persons from industry and from the universities.

Prospective Authors (member or group of members of the IEE or non-member with at least one member of the IEE as a co-author) are invited to submit 3 copies of abstracts of papers they intend to present at the Sessions. The paper should cover technical and technological advances in areas, such as

· Research and Development
· Experiences and Problems in projects
· State of the Art in Sri Lanka of any particular field
· Industry Reforms for Development
· Engineering Education

and related to Communication Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Information Technology and Manufacturing Engineering. These abstracts should highlight the innovative features of the paper.

Selected papers, based on abstracts, presented at the conference will be fully refereed and published in the Transactions of the IEE Sri Lanka.

DETAILS OF PAPERS

Abstracts of Papers [About 250 words, typed on single A4 sheet] should be accompanied by the completed reply form.

Full papers should be limited to 7 sheets of A4 size paper and typed in MS Word size 12 Times New Roman or equivalent.

SCHEDULE OF KEY DATES

Last date for receipt of Abstracts - 1 May 2004
Notification of acceptance to authors - 31 May 2004
Last date for submission of full paper - 31 July 2004
Proposed date for conference - 25 September 2004 (Saturday)

  IEE Overview

Founded in 1871, the Institution of Electrical Engineers (IEE) is the largest professional engineering society in Europe and has a worldwide membership of just under 130,000. These men and women, who have joined together to promote the advancement of electrical, electronic, information and manufacturing science and engineering, range from students to the most distinguished and highly qualified members of the profession. Its interest spans power engineering, communications, electronics, computing, informatics, control and manufacturing. It concerns itself with management, design, science, education and the many fields of technology related to the profession.

  IEE Sri Lanka

The IEE Sri Lanka has been set up to serve the members of the Institution of Electrical Engineers in Sri Lanka and to coordinate local activities. The branch's local activities include meetings for paper presentations by members, industrial visits, annual sessions and annual younger members session.

To promote the advancement of electrical, manufacturing and information engineering and to facilitate the exchange of knowledge and ideas.
