The second presentation of the 2003 IEE Prestige Lecture took place in the University of Waikato, Hamilton, New Zealand on Tuesday 5 August.  As in Auckland, there was significant interest in the topic from the visually impaired members of the community and people working with them.

Prior to the beginning of the lecture, a presentation was made to Jason Cordes, the winner of the IEE University of Waikato Prize for 2002.
