On 23 September the successful joint IEE/ESR Auckland Power Resource Seminar with Mike Underhill and Bryan Leyland was repeated in Hamilton, except that Bryan was caught in Queenstown as a result of the airport closing. The opportunity was taken at the beginning of the seminar to present the 2003 Waikato University IEE Prize to Michelle Challies as the top graduate completing a masters degree in electronic engineering at Waikato University in 2003.
New Zealand's IEE Council Representative, Frank Lewis, presented the IEE Prize to Michelle
in front of Prof Thomas Neitzert, Waikato University, and an audience of 50 in the Waikato Business School Lecture Theatre.
Frank addressed Bryan's presentation.
