Meetings at Savoy Place The Savoy Place Section of the London Branch is one of the busiest and most well attended, regularly attracting large numbers of members and their associates at our events. With a central London location topics are selected to match the interests of our members. We also like to provide an opportunity for members to socialise at these events. New members and their guests are always welcome. Savoy Place evening lectures generally take place on the 2nd Wednesday of each month from September to June. 17:30 to 18:30 for "Networking" with light refreshments and cold buffet free of charge for those who register.
Savoy Place lunch events take place on the last Friday of each month from September to June. Meeting at 12:30 for lunch, lectures start at 1:45 pm. Lunch costs £11.50 and booking is required at least one week in advance. The lecture is free.
Savoy Place is also the venue for The IET London Younger Members events, which happen from September to June; for more information visit the London Younger Members website (link on the left). The IET London building is next door to the Savoy Hotel, on the river side (as opposed to the Strand entrance). The nearest underground station is Embankment. If you use this station, exit the station on the river side (ie out to the main road), and turn left along Victoria Embankment. Walk down towards Waterloo Bridge, which is the next bridge down the river. The IET is a red brick and white stone building on the corner of Savoy Place/Savoy Street, just before you cross the road to go under Waterloo Bridge.
There is a large National Car Park at the South end of Waterloo Bridge, and a parking garage in Savoy Place to the West side of Shellmex House. If you arrive by car at about 5 pm, you will usually find pay and display parking bays available close to the IET Building.
