It is a great pleasure to become Chair of the Yorkshire Branch at a time when the Institution is reshaping itself by merger with the IIE, and to have the opportunity of influencing the effect on the new local organisation, whatever its name or form.
In addition to providing interesting events and meetings, we will plan to fulfil other IEE objectives, such as supporting individuals by assisting with mentoring and developing University links, and to improve schools liaison.

The IET Knowledge Network

Following extensive consultations with members of our 2 founding Institutions, a new concept was born: the IET Knowledge Network. It works in a number of dimensions
- near to where you live or work
- by technical specialism
- to meet career stage requirements.
For further details of the new Local Network structure there is
an Excel Spreadsheet available detailing the Post Codes covered
and a Word Document with a detailed structure plan
