Mr. Lynnworth attended New York University, graduating with a BEE in 1958. He obtained an MS at Stanford University in 1959. He has authored some 200 papers and reports, published several chapters, one book (Ultrasonic Measurements for Process Control, Academic Press, 1989), and has over forty US patents. These patents deal with ultrasonic methods or apparatus such as angle beam transducers for NDT & PCI applications, buffered waveguides, acoustic isolation and timing. Early in his career he worked primarily in NDT, first at Avco, 1959-1962, then at Panametrics. The NDT work included momentary contact ultrasonic measurements up to 1000ÂșC. By 1970 his focus had shifted from NDT to ultrasonic measurements of process measurands. Most of his work since 1970 has been related to ultrasonic flowmetering, some of which is at temperature extremes, both cryogenic and high temperature. He is a reviewer for several journals, and became an IEEE Fellow in 1993 for contributions to ultrasonic measurement of flow, temperature and liquid level. At Panametrics, he is vice-president and general manager of its PCI R&D Division.
