The IET is represented in New Zealand by three Local Networks:

Auckland

Christchurch

Wellington
The Local Networks appoint representatives (usually their Chairmen) to work together as a New Zealand forum in order to:

Co-ordinate the activities of the Institution within New Zealand

Plan and organise those activities which are best carried out at National level

Increase the profile and further the objectives of the IET within New Zealand

Interface with other national bodies where appropriate e.g. IPENZ (The Institution of Professional Engineers in New Zealand), ESR (Engineers for Social Responsibility).
The representatives are supported by an Honorary Treasurer and include in forum meetings:

Chairmen of Younger Member Sections

Any current New Zealand members of the IET Council or IET Boards

Any co-opted members of the IET in New Zealand
